PUBLIC NOTICE 23337 Public Hearing Notice Village of Sunrise Beach FY 23 Community Development Block Grant program application The Village of Sunrise Beach will hold a public hearing on August 7, 2024, 5:00 p.m.at the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District, 30 Porter Mill Spring Road, Sunrise Beach MO to discuss the city’s submission of a Competitive Cycle application for the Fiscal Year 23 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The meeting will be held at the Fire District Training Room; please use the entrance on the north side of the building. The Village is interested in obtaining all citizens' input on community development needs within the city. As part of the hearing process, citizens will be asked to verbally assist in the completion of a Needs Assessment document. The document will detail what the residents feel are the strengths and weaknesses of the community. The city needs as much local participation as possible in order to reflect the true desires of the community as a whole, as well as the comments relating to the proposed project application. The State has established a maximum application request for each funding category. Activities that are eligible for funding include the improvement of Community Facilities, Demolition, General Infrastructure, and others allowed by law. At least 51% of the funds must be used to benefit low-and-moderate income persons. No displacement of persons is anticipated. The Village is proposing to reconstruct a section of Beachwood Drive (Lake Rd 5-35) in the Village of Sunrise Beach, including pavement repair, drainage improvements, roadway resurfacing and other improvements. The total project cost is estimated at $603,903. The city proposes to contribute $103,903 in cash, with grant funds of $500,000 needed to make up the balance. The project, if funded, will benefit 76.80% low/moderate income persons. All citizens, including those in the targeted area, are encouraged to attend to comment on the proposed activities.
