The Camdenton High School Band Department is planning a once-in-a-lifetime marching band trip to Hawaii. Information on the field trip was presented to the Camdenton Board of Education at their Monday, May 12, meeting. The band plans to travel from Tuesday, Nov. 25, to Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2026. According to trip organizers, the experience would offer district students the opportunity to perform in two prestigious events: the Waikiki Holiday Parade and a commemorative performance aboard the USS Missouri in honor of the 85th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

This unique experience would blend music education with American history and provide students with a meaningful cultural and performance opportunity in a world-renowned setting.

This is not a required trip for members of the marching band but participating in these events would allow students to represent the school on a national stage while honoring the legacy of those who served during World War II.

The total cost of the trip is $3,239 per person, based on 150 participants and quadruple room occupancy. This price includes $1,200 in airfare, accommodation, ground transportation, meals, excursions and event registration fees. Fundraising efforts will be organized to help offset individual costs and ensure as many students as possible can participate.

According to trip organizers the trip will not only build musical excellence in students but also promote personal growth, teamwork and an appreciation for history and service. There was no motion necessary by the board.
