A nighttime adventure under the full moon is set for Thursday, July 10, at Mother Nature’s Riverfront Retreat, located at 878 Gardens Road in Macks Creek. The Full Moon Float Trip will begin at 9:30 p.m. and span approximately three hours on the Big Niangua River.
The event includes a bonfire at 6 p.m. on the main beach and offers optional overnight camping. Tickets are $15 and include the camping option. Participants may bring their own boats or rent canoes and paddles on site. Glow sticks are encouraged for decorating boats to enhance the nighttime float experience.
A second bonfire will be held at the end of the float near the parking area. Tent camping is first-come, first-served, with no need for reservations. RV and electric sites are available for advance booking.
The float trip coincides with July’s full moon, commonly known as the Buck Moon, named for the period when male deer regrow their antlers. The moon is also referred to by other names, including Feather Moulting Moon and Salmon Moon, referencing natural cycles and harvests.
Organizers describe the full moon as a symbol of culmination and release, marking a time for reflection, letting go and spiritual alignment.
