The 37th annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout concluded Sunday with a new champion taking the top honors. The event, held Aug. 23-24, marked the first year the races were hosted at Dog Days Bar & Grill in Osage Beach, following a relocation from Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill after 16 years.

The winning team, piloting the former Spirit of Qatar boat now known as the Durana Hybrid, was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Cup by Missouri Lieutenant Governor David Wasinger. The team was named champion with a record-setting 242 mph.

Event organizers reported record-breaking attendance and viewership, with over 11,000 viewers tuning in on YouTube by 11 a.m. on race day. The week-long festival included a mini shootout, street party, poker run, live auction and thrilling air shows, culminating in the high-speed races that have become a staple of the Lake of the Ozarks summer calendar.

Beyond the excitement on the water, the Shootout continues its commitment to philanthropy. Proceeds from the event benefit over 40 local organizations, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Dogwood Animal Shelter and the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District. In 2024, the event raised $730,000.
